Covestro is among the world’s largest polymer companies. Business activities are focused on the manufacture of high-tech polymer materials and the development of innovative solutions for products used in many areas of daily life. The main segments served are the automotive, construction, wood processing and furniture, and electrical, electronics and household appliances industries. Other sectors include sports and leisure, cosmetics, health, and the chemical industry itself. Covestro has about 33 production sites around the globe and as of the end of 2020 employed approximately 16,500 people. Covestro (Taiwan) is headquartered in Xinyi District, Taipei City, and runs two factories in Changhua and Linyuan, providing customers in Taiwan and Asia-Pacific markets with high-tech material products and innovative solutions. The Plant in Changhua, which mainly produces thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), is Covestro's largest production base in Asia. The Plant in Linyuan mainly produces Polyether Polyol. In addition to supplying customized long-chain and short-chain PET products, it also exports to China and other Southeast Asian countries. In the field of Research and Development, Covestro has set up an APAC TPU R&D center in Changhua plant to provide customers with customized products and services.
