“Whenever I step into the kitchen, I can smell grandma’s love and wisdom,” said Wan-An Chiang, the Mayor of Taipei City. “The bubbling of a hot soup, the seasoning of a dish—these seemingly ordinary cooking processes actually contain rich scientific principles. Covestro, in collaboration with the Taipei City Government, has designed “Grandma’s Magic Kitchen,” transforming the kitchen into a laboratory full of surprises where grandparents and grandchildren explore, laugh, and learn together. In this digital age, we should cherish such precious moments of interaction. Watching grandparents turn their lifelong culinary skills into vivid science lessons, discovering the wonders of everyday life with their grandchildren—this warmth and emotion are Taipei city’s most valuable assets. We hope that through this science camp, more families will create unforgettable memories of intergenerational learning.”
Dr. Carsten Wildebrand, Managing Director of Covestro Taiwan, emphasizes, “As Taiwan transitions into an aging society, Covestro envisions this camp as more than just intergenerational exchange—it’s about reigniting the joy of learning among our seniors. Every grandmother and grandfather is a science magician in daily life, and their wisdom and experience are invaluable catalysts for inspiring the next generation.”
“Every experiment we thoughtfully design carries the living wisdom of our grandparents’ generation,” shares Renee Chen, Senior Manager of Communications and DEI Leader of Covestro Taiwan. “We’re also particularly grateful to Ms. Tiffany Chen for her guidance and planning of this camp again.”
