Approximately 60 percent of all microchips are produced in Taiwan, and for the most modern chips the figure is even over 90 percent. Taiwan is also currently investing heavily in the expansion of renewable energies, particularly in offshore wind turbines and photovoltaics. In the future, the areas of biotechnology, healthcare, artificial intelligence, space technology and the circular economy are also expected to offer attractive business opportunities for German companies.
