Our Approach - Supporting Your Interests in Taiwan

Taiwan is one of Germany’s key partners in Asia, with around 300 German companies operating locally. Despite strong bilateral ties, regulatory complexity, market entry barriers, import restrictions, and limited access to public tenders can still present challenges.  We collaborate closely with administrations and industry stakeholders to address issues and enhance the competitiveness of German businesses in Taiwan.

Policy Monitoring and Dialogue

We actively monitor legislative and regulatory developments in Taiwan. Through direct engagement with ministries, agencies, and local authorities, we share feedback from our Business Alliance partners and advocate for solutions that promote sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness. A key example is the annual Taiwan-Germany Joint Business Council (JBC), which brings together business leaders and government officials to discuss pressing economic topics and identify new opportunities for collaboration.

Collective Advocacy

We organize roundtables, working groups, and surveys to gather insights from our partners. These collective inputs form the basis of our policy positions and recommendations, which we present to the Taiwanese government to drive meaningful change.

Case-by-Case Support

Beyond general advocacy, we also assist our Business Alliance partners with individual cases. These range from market access and certification inquiries to customs procedures, taxation matters, and sector-specific regulations. Our goal is to help you navigate challenges efficiently and focus on growing your business.

Business Confidence Survey

Since 2012, we have conducted our annual Business Confidence Survey to evaluate the business environment for German companies in Taiwan.
