This delegation comprises 11 German companies focusing on satellite components, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), aerospace materials, and precision sensing technologies. The mission is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) as part of the "Foreign Market Entry Programme" for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Organized by DEinternational Taiwan Ltd., the service unit of the German Trade Office Taipei, the itinerary will include industry forums and business matchmaking events aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation across the aerospace and secure communications supply chains.
Taiwan has emerged as an indispensable strategic hub in the Asia-Pacific aerospace value chain, driven by surging global demand for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and drone technology. German enterprises, renowned for their engineering excellence and innovation in satellite communications, autonomous systems, and aerospace sensing, possess high global competitiveness. The technical complementarity between both sides opens significant new opportunities in secure communications, defense industries, and next generation 6G networks.
"The aerospace and satellite industry has risen rapidly in recent years, becoming a vital strategic pillar of Taiwan's industrial development," said Dr. Eva Langerbeck, Chief Representative and Executive Director of the German Trade Office Taipei. "Since the early 2020s, Taiwan has consistently strengthened its capabilities in drone and satellite technology, pushing the overall aerospace market value beyond 3.5 billion euros. With the advancement of the 'Five Trusted Industry Sectors Promotion Plan,' Taiwan is leveraging its world-leading semiconductor and precision manufacturing strengths to promote supply chain diversification and enhance industrial resilience within the global supply network. Germany’s expertise in sensor fusion, secure data transmission, and satellite Earth observation is perfectly positioned to fill key technical gaps in Taiwan’s development, creating a win-win scenario."
In addition to engaging with more than 100 industry representatives at the Taiwanese-German Aerospace Conference, the delegation also visited several of Taiwan’s leading aerospace companies and research institutions to gain deeper insights into the latest developments within Taiwan’s aerospace industry ecosystem. Visits included the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), as well as leading academic institutions such as National Central University and National Cheng Kung University.
Through technical exchanges, site visits, and one-on-one business matchmaking sessions, the German companies gained first-hand insights into Taiwan’s progress in areas such as the national drone initiative, low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite ground stations, and aerospace supply chain integration. The delegation also explored potential future cooperation with Taiwanese partners in fields including advanced sensors, composite material processing, autonomous flight control systems, and secure communication technologies.
Aerospace and satellite technologies are the defining fields for the future of secure communication and defense systems. Both Germany and Taiwan stand at the forefront of these sectors, sharing core values of supply chain transparency and high-quality manufacturing. As global industrial transformations and geopolitical challenges intensify, deepening German-Taiwanese technical cooperation will not only strengthen industrial resilience but also inject new momentum into the global security technology supply chain.
The 11 participating German companies are: Cevotec GmbH, constellr GmbH, Dcubed GmbH, DEV Systemtechnik GmbH, ExOne GmbH, IMS Space Consultancy GmbH, Marble Imaging GmbH, MBS GmbH, Schunk Kohlenstofftechnik GmbH, Volz Servos GmbH & Co. KG, and OKAPI: Orbits GmbH.
