Covestro Zhangbin Site's Regional Mutual Aid Group Practical Demonstration Receives Chemicals Administration Recognition

Covestro Taiwan announces that its Zhangbin Site received the "Mutual Aid Groups Performance Outstanding Award in Practice Demonstration and Observation" for 2025 from the Chemicals Administration, Ministry of Environment. The award was presented by Tsai Meng-Yu, Director of Chemical Administration, on 29 October.

This year's awards for excellence in toxic and concerned chemical substances operational management mutual aid groups are divided into three major categories, recognising a total of 41 entities across industry, academia, and research nationwide. The " Mutual Aid Groups Performance Outstanding Award in Practice Demonstration and Observation" recipients came from factories across six counties and cities nationwide, with Covestro's Zhangbin Site being the representative factory honored in Changhua County.

Covestro Zhangbin Site Manager Hsieh Ming-hsun added: "This award recognizes the enhanced strategies that Covestro's Zhangbin Site has implemented in recent years regarding emergency response drills, including advance planning, personnel coordination, protective equipment checks, and drill implementation. Through continuous drills of critical processes such as disaster control, evacuation, and rescue under different scenarios, we can develop more robust and efficient emergency response capabilities."

 

The Zhangbin Site is Covestro Group's largest energy-curing resin synthesis production base and also produces energy-curing monomers. Energy-curing resins can be widely applied in various coating applications, such as optical fibre cables, solar panels, electronic materials, printing inks, flooring, and wood protective coatings.

 

As a German polymer materials manufacturer committed to sustainable operations, Covestro not only conducts regular internal safety training but also ensures that each facility conducts multiple emergency evacuation drills annually, regularly inventories the quantity and effectiveness of protective equipment, regularly reviews staffing across all functional teams, and actively participates in regional mutual aid groups to enhance overall factory and regional disaster prevention and response resilience.
