Taiwan’s unique geography, where sea and peaks converge, has nurtured a distinctive moun-tain-embracing culture. Yet many suburban trails, paved with cement or asphalt, have altered natural landscapes and placed added pressure on local ecosystems. To address this, Porsche Taiwan and SOW promoted handmade trails, an ecological method from the United States and Japan using natural materials such as branches and stones to restore paths with minimal impact, while raising the awareness of sustainable mountain care.
This year’s event focused on Cuishan Trail in Waishuangxi, known for its diverse forest ecology and role as an outdoor classroom, and Dalunweishan Trail, renowned for its convergence of three forest types - subtropical broadleaf, warm-temperate broadleaf, and tropical vegetation - and its role as a key water conservation area. Participants cleared invasive plants and con-ducted ecological surveys to support future conservation, reinforcing the message that recre-ation, education and preservation must progress together to safeguard these landscapes for generations to come.
“World Cleanup Family Day has become a cornerstone of Porsche Taiwan’s corporate culture,” said Christian Nater, CEO of Porsche Taiwan. “Together with the Society of Wilderness, we
have taken action across coastlines, oceans, wetlands, and now mountains. Each step demon-strates our responsibility to go beyond financial contributions and engage our people directly in safeguarding Taiwan’s natural heritage. This is the spirit of Dream Together, turning vision into action for future generations.”
Chi-ting Lee, Chairman of the Society of Wilderness, added: “Our collaboration with Porsche Taiwan brings people closer to nature while raising awareness of the challenges it faces. From invasive species removal to handmade trail building and ecological surveys, these initiatives show how conservation and education can move forward together to create long-lasting im-pact.”
Now in its sixth year of collaboration with SOW, Porsche Taiwan continues to advance its CSR efforts under the Dream Together banner. From coastal cleanups to mountain restoration, the program underscores Porsche Taiwan’s role as a committed corporate citizen—strengthening biodiversity, ecological awareness, and meaningful connections between people, communi-ties, and nature.
