Automation & Robotics Control Internship at ASYS Automatic Systems

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

Interns will engage in structured training and hands-on project work to develop skills in software programming, controller programming, and robot automation

 

1. Training & Skill Development Interns will participate in structured training courses in the following areas:

a. Software Programming → GUI design, version control, object-oriented programming, and multithreading

b. Controller Programming → PLC programming and automation logic

c. Robot Programming → Application programming, tool setup, and real-world robotics tasks

 

2. Hands-on Project Execution Interns will apply their training in real-world projects under the guidance of ASYS engineers, including:

a. Project Work → Implementing technical solutions and contributing to automation projects

b. Final Presentation & Evaluation → Presenting project findings and receiving feedback

 

Interns will primarily work within the Electronics and Software Department, collaborating with engineers specializing in:

 

a. Controller Programming → PLC programming, robot controller structure, and automation logic

b. Electrical Design → Circuit schematics, safety standards, and system integration

c. GUI Development → Designing graphical user interfaces for automation systems

d. Robot Programming → Robot movement control, application programming, and system troubleshooting

 

  • Interns will collaborate with the Maintenance Department when conducting robot testing and validation
  • Throughout the internship, interns will receive mentorship and technical guidance from experienced ASYS engineers while contributing to hands-on projects, preparing them for future careers in automation, robotics, and system engineering

 

Learning Possibilities:

 

  • Interns will gain expertise in the following key fields:

 

1. Software Programming:

 

1.1 Graphical User Interface Development: Designing and implementing user interfaces for automation systems

1.2 Version Control: Managing software versions, branching, and collaboration using Git

1.3 Object-Oriented Programming: Understanding OOP principles such as encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism

1.4 Multithreading & Parallel Processing: Developing efficient and responsive applications

 

2. Controller Programming & Automation

 

2.1 PLC Programming: Writing automation logic using PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)

2.2 ASYS Robot Controller Structure: Understanding how robot controllers operate and interface with automation systems

2.3 Industrial Automation: Learning how automated systems integrate within a manufacturing environment

 

3. Robot Programming & Control

 

3.1 Robot Motion Control: Programming robotic movements, tool setup, and kinematics

3.2 KAIRO Programming: Using ASYS’s proprietary robotics programming language for automation tasks

3.3 Robot Application Development: Implementing real-world automation applications such as material handling and assembly

 

4. Electrical Design & System Integration

 

4.1 Circuit Design & Schematic Reading: Understanding and debugging electrical diagrams for automation systems

4.2 Safety Standards & Risk Assessment: Learning industrial safety requirements and compliance

4.3 System Integration: Connecting hardware, software, and controllers to create seamless automation solutions

 

5. Project Execution & Professional Development

 

5.1 Problem-Solving & Debugging: Identifying and resolving technical issues in automation and robotics systems

5.2 Collaboration & Teamwork: Working closely with engineers across different domains

5.3 Final Project Presentation: Communicating technical findings and project results effectively

 

Applicant Profile:

  • Completion of at least two semesters (undergraduate) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (second year or higher) or enrolled in a Master’s/Graduate program
  • Adequate English verbal and written communication skills
  • Programming skills in C/C++ or any other programming language is preferred but not mandatory

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

The Internship provides the opportunity to join the TRUMPF Department for EUV lithography technology in Taiwan. This cutting-edge technology is part of advanced semiconductor industry in Taiwan and worldwide.

  • Working with the Site Manager in daily tasks, such as arranging necessary preparations for the Drive Laser Installations in Taiwan
  • Getting into contact with the worldwide leading suppliers to the semiconductor industry in Taiwan
  • Collaborating closely with the Planning Team, EHS Team, Coordinator Team, Quality Department and Material Handling
  • Experience in programming is a plus to contribute additionally to a project for improving the daily business

 

Learning Possibilities:

  • Understanding the Semiconductor Supply Chain, especially in Taiwan
  • Learning about the EUV lithography technology

  • Facilitate coordination between Headquarter Training Center and Taiwan Training Center
  • Setup and support for EUV lasers for course implementation
  • Support development of training courses and training models
  • Support in coordinating team building activities as well as training activities
