Event Review

May 28 was the day of our GTO German Company Charity Soccer Tournament, where Teams from 16 German companies competed against each other and donated 1,500 NTD to the Disabled Children’s Rights and Advocacy Association in Taiwan for every goal scored: 430,500 NTD in total for 287 goals! What an achievement!

After opening remarks from our Chief Representative and Executive Director Mr. Axel Limberg, Mr. Wang Hong Shiang, Director of the Department of Sports for the Taipei City Government, and Ms. Shu-Chuan Cheng, Chairperson of the Disabled Children’s Rights and Advocacy Association in Taiwan, a thrilling series of 15-minute soccer matches began.

Tianmu United emerged as the champion from a thrilling play-off round, winning the finale and scoring a total of 45 goals in just 6 matches! Bosch Taiwan finished in the runner-up position (37 goals). Siemens Xcelerator won the third place play-off, scoring 39 goals during the whole tournament, while United FC Volkswagen Group Taiwan took fourth place (21 goals). TRUMPF Taiwan, ENERCON Taiwan, Merck Taiwan, and TÜV Rheinland Taiwan were placed fifth, sixth, seventh, and eight, respectively. 

We would like to once again thank all the companies and their team members who participated in the tournament and raised an impressive amount for a good cause while participating in a fun and healthy exercise! We are also grateful to Adidas, Aromase, Rosbacher, and ACE SWEETS—who kindly sponsored some items for the event—as well as the Department of Sports of the Taipei City Government and the A Star Academy for co-organizing the event.

Introduction

Join us and cheer for your favorite German company team at the GTO German Company Charity Soccer Tournament - PLAY FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T on April 28, 2023.

We aim to raise awareness and funds for the “Disabled Children’s Rights and Advocacy Association in Taiwan” while engaging in fun and sports with our friends and members.

This novel event includes:

• German Company Teams with 5 players per team competing for 15 minutes per match on a small pitch
• Each team to donate 1,500 NT$ to the Disabled Children’s Rights and Advocacy Association in Taiwan for every goal scored
• Final crowning of two winning teams: The team with most total goals & the overall winning team
