May 18 was the day of our long-awaited GTO White Asparagus Dinner at the Illume Taipei – the first since 2019!

We were honored to welcome a total of 60 guests that came together to enjoy a delicious meal of white asparagus, as is tradition in German cuisine during the springtime.

Following the opening remarks, engaging musical performances by young native Taiwanese supported by this year’s charity organization the Vox Nativa Association, as well as a presentation displaying remarkable English skills, delighted our guests before enjoying their white asparagus and wine by Peter Mertens.

The evening was concluded by the lucky draw and announcement of the final amount that was raised during the event and donated to the Vox Nativa Association: an impressive 107,500NTD!

Charity

At this year’s Asparagus Dinner, we are cooperating with the Vox Nativa Association, which is supporting young aborigines, enabling them to reinvest their skills in their own community. Living in isolated rural areas, the aborigines have limited access to educational resources. The Vox Nativa Association wishes to revitalize aborigines’ musical talents by providing proper training and support, aiming to help the children succeed academically, empower them to preserve their aesthetic tradition and rich culture, and improve the quality of life of their tribe. At the event, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the association and buy lottery tickets for the lucky draw, of which the total profit will be donated to Vox Nativa Association.
