Global recycling leader REMONDIS has inaugurated a cutting-edge plastics recycling facility in Fangyuan Township, Changhua County. With an investment of 1.8 billion NTD, the plant represents a major milestone in Taiwan’s resource recovery efforts, setting new standards in sustainability and efficiency.
The new facility, located within the Fangyuan Industrial Park, boasts a treatment capacity of 50,000 tons per year and is designed to handle a variety of plastic materials, including types 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 plastic bottles. The plant integrates in-house pelletizing capabilities, enabling the production of high-quality plastic flakes and pellets. Drawing on 30 years of operational experience from REMONDIS’s previous factory in Nantou County, the design and processes of the Changhua plant reflect the company’s commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Klemens Rethmann, board member of the RETHMANN Group, highlighted the plant’s role in advancing global sustainability efforts. Jim Tai, General Manager of REMONDIS Taiwan, shared insights into the plant’s innovative processes and local impact. Lai Ying-Ying, Head of the Resource Circulation Administration, praised the plant’s advanced capabilities, highlighting its role in aligning with Taiwan’s circular economy goals. Deputy County Magistrate Lin Tien-Fu also commended the investment, noting its positive impact on the local economy and environment.
The plant’s opening attracted a distinguished group of guests from industry and government, reflecting the shared commitment to sustainable development. As REMONDIS’s most advanced recycling facility in Taiwan, the Changhua plant is set to play a pivotal role in reducing plastic waste and promoting resource conservation for years to come.
