Speaker: Axel Rudolph, Senior Technical Analyst
Axel Rudolph is Senior Technical Analyst with Commerzbank London. He is also the Chairman and a Fellow of the Society of Technical Analysts (STA) in Great Britain and was Vice-Chairperson Europe on the board of the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA). Previously he was Dow Jones’ Chief Technical Analyst for Europe, a bond, derivatives and proprietary trader in Paris and London. He has been using technical analysis since 1992, was the STA head of education for six years and has been teaching part of the STA Diploma course at the London School of Economics (LSE) for the past seventeen years. Mr. Rudolph holds a MSc in European Studies from the LSE, a BSc (Hons) in Economics from University College London and is an FSTA, MCSI and CFTe II.

Technical analysis is a methodology for forecasting the direction of prices through the study of past market data, primarily price and volume. While fundamental analysts examine earnings, dividends, assets, quality, ratio, new products, research and the like, technical analysts use charts and seek to identify price patterns and market trends with the attempt to exploit those patterns. They also use market indicators of many sorts, some of which are mathematical transformations of price as much as they look for relationships between price/volume indices and market indicators, like moving averages, relative strength index, etc.
In his presentation, Axel Rudolph will share his views for 2019 on major currencies, commodities like precious metals and oil, as well as USD and EUR interest rates and fixed income markets.
