Young Professionals of Taiwan -make the most of your lunch-break! Join us next Thursday at our first Cross-Border Young Leaders Lunch Forum on July 16, from 12:00 to 13:30 Taiwan Time in cooperation with AHK Japan and AHK Singapore. Young leaders Koji Ishii, Chief Business Officer of FC Tokyo, Tom Landwehr, General Manager of Illies Taiwan and Ruben Duhme, General Manager Herrenknecht Asia in Singapore will share with us their secrets to career success at a young age!  After the speeches, you will have a chance to exchange with the keynote speakers as well as other young professionals from Taiwan, Japan and Singapore around virtual tables! Bring your own lunchbox! 

Speakers

Koji Ishii, Chief business officer of global business, FC TOKYO

Koji Ishii learned educational science, cognitive science, brain science, psychology, and team culture and internet community at the University of TOKYO (Master ’s degree). He started his career in a Japanese information platform company called RECRUIT Co. Ltd. Most of his work he has concentrated on startups. He was involved in creating internet community business and new media business, became a HR solution consultant, change management consultant and turn around management consultant.
He moved to Nomura Research Institute, one of the biggest consulting firms in Japan. He build his career in business management consulting, mainly focusing on new business creation, executive team management, sports management consulting and stadium strategy making.
Then he moved to Japan Women's Professional Baseball League as a Chief Strategic Officer to develop their business and league restructuring. Currently he is the chief business officer of mixi,inc. focusing on sports business strategy and management consultation, stadium and arena development consultation as well as the chief global business officer of FC TOKYO.

Tom Landwehr, General Manager of Illies Taiwan 

Tom Landwehr started in October 2010 as a dual student at ILLIES. A few months after completing his bachelor's degree in Business Administration with focus on financial management, he went directly to Asia. For three years, he coordinated and supported the sales activities of ILLIES for warp knitting machinery made by the German textile manufacturer Karl Mayer at the branch office in Guangzhou, South China.
Back in Hamburg, he moved in 2017 to the Business Unit Paper, Printing Technology, Films & Coatings as Senior Sales Manager. His biggest career step at ILLIES came at the end of 2018 as Tom Landwehr headed back to Asia, where he took over the management of the local sales and marketing organization of ILLIES Taiwan in Taipei.

Ruben Duhme, General Manager Herrenknecht Asia

Dr. Ruben Duhme is General Manager at Herrenknecht Asia. He is responsible for Herrenknecht´s engineering and geotechnical departments in Asia. Prior to taking his current position, he was heading Herrenknecht’s regional R&D activities.
Ruben graduated with a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Technical University Munich and received his Doctorate in 2017 at the Institute for Construction Technology, Tunneling and Construction Management at the Ruhr University Bochum.
As a researcher, Ruben has developed a number of patented technologies used in today’s TBMs, mostly focusing on slurry and earth pressure balance TBM tunneling. He has authored over 40 technical publications and advances the industry standards as an active member of technical working groups in Singapore’s Tunneling Society and International Tunneling Association. Ruben teaches TBM technology to civil engineering students at Nanyang Technological University.
In his role in Herrenknecht, Ruben guides the selection and design of TBMs deployed throughout Asia and supports active tunneling sites with expert knowledge for specific topics. As such, he has been deeply involved in most major tunneling projects of the recent years.
Rubens main interests in the further development of mechanized tunneling lie in the areas of site digitalization, innovative TBM concepts and the increase of the industries productivity.

About the Young Leaders Forum

The Young Leaders Forum was established in March 2016 and is one of five working groups at the AHK Japan. It is a platform for the next generation of the German-Japanese business community (under 40) to network outside of the boundaries of companies and industries.

The YLF meets 3 – 4 times a year at changing locations providing participants with access to interesting topics and speakers. The language of the YLF is English and open to all nationalities. On average around 25 participants (30% Japanese and 70% non-Japanese), attend each event.
